KENDAL Town battled back to draw 2-2 with Tadcaster Albion on Tuesday Night.

Josh Draycott's 76th minute goal ensured that Kendal shared the spoils in an entertaining encounter at The Pye Motors Stadium.

Matt Poole gave Kendal Town the lead after just six minutes, however two goals in three minutes by Daniel Thirkell and Fatium Ibrahmi saw Tadcaster go 2-1 up at half time. However Draycott came off the bench to score as Kendal picked up a point.

Kendal made a good start and were almost ahead straight away when Poole broke in behind the Tadcaster defence before seeing his effort pushed away for a corner by Albion keeper Chandler Hallwood.

However minutes later Kendal opened the scoring when Poole's header bounced in off the underside of the crossbar.

Kendal created further opportunities through Sam Bailey whose powerful drive was pushed away by Hallwood before Josh Wardle headed the ball over from a corner.

The visitors created their first real opportunity in the 26th minute when Gregg Anderson's diving header rebounded off the back post before Carlos Djalos saw his powerful strike from 18 yards crash off the bar.

Tadcaster equalised though when Thirkell tapped home from two yards following a corner into the box by Connor Sellars.

The visitors then edged ahead three minutes later as Ibrahimi ran onto a loose ball before unleashing a 25 yard screamer that went in off the post.

Tadcaster were in control during the early stages of the second half, while Tom Corner headed the ball over before Djalo saw his header go wide of the post.

Kendal worked their way into the half, as Poole was denied by a point blank save from Hallwood before Sam Bailey's free kick was cleared away by some last gasp defending.

However Kendal equalised when Wardle's effort was cleared off the line before Draycott scrambled the ball home with Tadcaster failing to clear their lines.

Kendal almost won the game in injury time but Draycott's effort went agonisingly across the face of goal as the game ended 2-2.
