WE WERE the better side on Saturday and kept going to the last minute, which impressed me.

We ripped Retford apart and got what we deserved. I could have changed it around but I thought the football was good and we got a result.

We now have two players suspended for the weekend match in Kieran Walmsley and Warren Beattie, but we have lots of players ready to come in for them.

At the minute I have three or four teams in my head for the FC United of Manchester tie and I’ll pick the team after training on Thursday.

We have quality on the bench but unfortunately Ian Kilford and Paul Byrne are still out. Kyle Jacobs has been out with a local team and he might get his chance on Saturday.

Things are going well though and we just have to take each game as they come. If we play like we are playing at the minute, with a great team as a whole, things will get better.

Andy Bell and Alex Taylor have been magnificent together and I think it will be hard to keep Andy.

He is playing well and he seems to enjoy working with us and the lads.

I see a lot of happy faces and that can only be good for the club.

I have said all the time the team spirit is good and to look of joy at the bench when the last minute goal was scored on Saturday told a story.

We now look to the games over Christmas and if we are anywhere near the top over Christmas we will be OK. With drying pitches we will be able to play our football and we will keep going and enjoy the season.

We have to put the FA Cup disappointment behind us. We have been outstanding in spells and we will soon score six or seven in a game.

On Saturday, we go to FC United of Manchester. Last year we went down on a Wednesday night and took 150 supporters and if we have that support at the weekend it will really help us.
