WE had not played since the early part of December up to Tuesday's win at Burscough and it all felt a bit like pre-season all over again.

All the lads were a credit to themselves over Christmas - they all worked hard and trained well over the festive period.

I am happy with the squad at the minute and hopefully we can go on a run.

ten games and I want us to extend that to 15 or 20 and stay unbeaten for as long as possible.

Looking to Saturday I am sure Burscough will have a different line up but we will go there full of confidence.

It's unusual to play the same side twice in a week but it is important we don’t go there complacent after the cup win.

We are through to the quarter-finals of the challenge cup now and we want to do really well in that. I also want a home draw in the next round.

We are only two to three games away from the trophy and we are up for the cup.

We have a fit bunch of players and we have done some tough tests with them in training.

Getting the games in will get us back to full flowing football again but it was crucial to get another win under our belt.

Danny [Wisdom] had a knock on Tuesday but should be back for Saturday and I rested Andy Bell as he had a slight strain, but if he has recovered he might play.

It was good to see Killer [Ian Kilford] come through 90 minutes. He is a great lad and I wanted to give him as many minutes as I could. He is 100 per cent fit and it is good to have him back.

Fozzy [Dave Foster] was magnificent as well. We got on well when I was a player and we have a fantastic relationship now as his manager and I expect good things from him.

I want to thank all the fans who turned up at Burscough on Tuesday night, they were fantastic.

I think they have missed the football as much as we have and there were more of our fans there than Burscough.

It was nice to see so many turn up, but they folllow us everywhere and it is good they get behind us.

Hopefully they will be back on Saturday too.
