WE didn’t lose any ground with the Worksop game being called off last Saturday as the rest of the league programme was wiped out.

There was no chance of the game going ahead really and even games in the Premier League and Championship fell to the weather.

We have had three hard training sessions in the last week and we have been lucky enough to get all the lads to every session, so it has been like a mini pre-season.

By the next game - whenever that is - we will be a lot sharper.

We had our annual run-up Kendal Castle on Saturday and the lads really pushed themselves, and a couple even threw up, but it is important we keep them on their toes fitness-wise.

My hands are tied with bringing players in on-loan because we don’t know when the next game will be.

We might take someone on loan for a month but only get two games out of them because of the weather, so we really need to wait until it brightens up.

When I first came to the club no one wanted to join us but now we have players of quality wanting to play for us.

We want to bring in a leader and a centre-half, but the key is to get some more character in the side.

We are looking at all areas though.

In the last five performances we haven’t been bad in some games but we need the results to start going our way.

Over the seasons we have done well at Stocksbridge. They have a good ground and it allows us to play well.

They are not one of the sides I have seen this season but we have got to be mentally right for the game.

We have to deal with whatever the weather throws at us, but it is important to keep our chins up after five losess on the trot.
