Doodson Cup, quarter-final
Kendal Town 2
Witton Albion 1
KENDAL Town reached the semi-finals of the Doodson Cup with a 2-1 home victory against Witton Albion tonight, Tuesday.

Town were 1-0 up at the break thanks to an Adam Farrell strike after a clearance had ricocheted into his path off an Albion defender.

Farrell remained composed to dribble around two defenders and poked home from three yards out as Town played their first match for almost three weeks.

Albion have impressed in the Evo-Stik First Division North this season though and pulled level on 54 minutes when Alex Titchiner latched on to a through ball and fired through Craig Dootson to the middle of the net.

Titchiner was in top form and Town could have been a couple of goals behind with ten minutes to go.

But Carl Osman came off the bench and went on one of his mazy runs before his deflected effort was cannoned off the heel of Matt Wooley into his own net to give the hosts a 2-1 lead.

At the death it was again Titchiner who curled the ball just wide of the mark but Town held on to reach the semis, where they will face Frickley Athletic, North Ferriby United or Rushall Olympic.
