DIVISION One of the Westmorland Association Football League served up a couple of treats for football fans.

High-flying Kirkoswald thumped fifth-placed Sedbergh Wanderers 4-1 at home.

Goals from Sean Elliott, Lewis Renvioze, Niall Renwick and Tony Threlkeld sealed victory for the Kirkoswald who find themselves five points clear at the top having played two games more than their nearest rivals.

Penrith Reserves narrowly lost at home to Appleby.

Appleby ran out 4-3 winners in an enthralling match with a brace from Dan Robinson securing victory for his side who have won all of their eight games so far this campaign - if they can replay all their postponed games then they will surely be in the hunt for the title.

Elsewhere, Keswick and Kendal United played out a dull 0-0 draw.

This was a game second placed Keswick will have been disappointed not to have won.

In Division Two sixth placed Ibis beat eighth placed Braithwaite 1-0 at home - a solitary Joshua Ford strike was all that could separate the teams on the day.

Endmoor KGR came away from their visit to Wetheriggs with a resounding 3-0 win thanks to goals from Ryan Carrudus, James Hartley and Niall Wilkinson.

The result came as no surprise as Endmoor are enjoying a great season to date, finding themselves in second place, while Wetheriggs United are struggling down in tenth spot.

All the matched in Divisions Three and Four were postponed due to inclement weather which was unfortunate because a spice cup tie between Kendal United Reserves and Burneside Reserves in the Peter Dawes Memorial Shield would have been a good contest.
