Burneside Reserve and Cartmel Reserve booked their place in the final of the Junior Cup on a dramatic afternoon in the Westmorland Football League.

Burneside, who currently lie second in Westmorland League Division Three, defeated Kendal United Reserves, of Division Two, 1-0 with Scott O'Callaghan scoring the all-important goal.

In the other semi-final, Cartmel defeated Carleton Banks 5-1 to secure their place in the showpiece occasion at Parkside Road.

In Westmorland League Division One, Kendal United closed the gap on League Leaders Keswick to within six points as they defeated Ambleside Utd 2-0 at Castle Drive.

Kendal, who also have a game in hand on the leaders, battled for the three points as Danny Craig and Brandon Croskell Robinson were on target.

Bottom of the table Unisun Athletic picked up their first win of the season as they shocked Ibis in a 1-0 win at Melbourne Park.

Sedbergh Wanderers and Wetheriggs United battled out a six-goal thriller in a 3-3 draw in a game played at Kirkby Lonsdale.

Sedbergh scored through Shaun Gardner, Oli Wales and Aaron Siemaszko. Ben Pool and Andrew Murray Jones on target for Wetheriggs.

Windermere routed Penrith Reserve 6-1, while Lunesdale Utd progressed in the High Sheriff's Cup as they defeated Kendal County Reserve 3-2 at Parkside Road.

Wetheriggs Utd Reserve marched on in Westmorland League Division Two as they defeated Endmoor KGR 2-0. Niall Cowperthwaite was one of the scorers as Wetheriggs went seven points clear at the top of the division.

Coniston moved up to second after a hard-fought 2-0 win at Braithwaite, while Burneside won 5-2 at Greystoke.

In Westmorland League Division Three, Eden Thistle surged ten points clear at the top after they dominated a struggling Penrith Saints side in a 6-2 win.

Kirkoswald Reserve put seven past Endmoor KGR Reserve in a 7-2 win. Macauley Forsyth and Searus Aynsley each scored twice, with Ewan Willacy,Jamie Street and Ryan Gate also on the score sheet.

Ibis Reserve battled to a 2-1 win over Greystoke Reserve at The Jubilee Playing Fields in Kendal. Sam Mason and Jay Hayton put Ibis 2-0 in the first half.

However, Greystoke scored with ten minutes left to make it a nervous finish for the hosts.

In the other games Windermere Reserve won 2-1 at Lunesdale Utd Reserve, AFC Carlisle defeated Appleby Reserve 2-0 and Ullswater Utd won 2-0 at Penrith Royal.
