Keswick surged ten points clear at the top of Westmorland League Division One after the team from Fitz Park collected six points from their last two games.

Last Thursday the league leaders defeated Ibis 1-0, with a second half goal by Andy Rigg, while on Saturday they beat Kendal County Reserves 3-0.

Richard Bannister,Steve Hindmarch and Richard Bell were on target.

Kendal United's challenge at the top has faltered in recent weeks, as they lost 2-1 at Ambleside United on Tuesday night.

At the foot of the table Unisun remain the favourites to go down after losing 2-1 at Lunesdale United and then battling to a point in a 3-3 draw at Appleby.

Appleby also routed Ambleside United 7-1

Wetheriggs United's recent improvement continued after they won two games on the bounce. On Saturday Riggs eased past Penrith Reserves with a 5-1 win. Niall Renwick scored a brace and there were goals form Lee Henderson, Barry Stockdale and an own goal. Wetheriggs then saw off Kirkoswald in a 3-2 thriller on Tuesday.

Oli Wales scored a hat trick as Sedbergh Wanderers defeated Kirkoswald 4-3 in a thrilling contest. Sedbergh then battled for a point against Windermere in a 1-1 draw on Tuesday.

Kendal United Reserves cut the lead at the top down to three points after two hard-fought wins.

Saturday saw the Reserves battle to a 2-0 win at Dent. However the 3-1 win over league leaders Wetheriggs United was crucial. Danny Craig scored a brace while Declan Thompson was also on the score sheet.

Staveley United defeated both Greystoke and Braithwaite 1-0, while Endmoor KGR’s current good form continued with 2-0 wins over Carleton Banks and Shap on Monday night. Matthew Wilson scored both goals.

Keswick Reserves won 2-1 at Ambleside United Reserves, while Langwathby United won by the same score at Burneside.

Shap saw off Braithwaite with a 5-2 win, while Coniston won 3-1 at Carleton Banks, Pirelli ran out 3-1 winners at Burneside on Monday while Dent edged Greystoke 1-0.

Windermere Reserves had mixed fortunes in Westmorland League Division Three. On Saturday they put seven past Penrith Academy in a 7-1 demolition. Frank Maguire scored a hat trick.

However, on Tuesday they were held to a 3-3 draw with Ullswater United. Jack Barker got a brace and Joe Hibbitt was also on target.

Ibis Reserves collected six points after defeating Dent Reserves 2-0 on Saturday before an entertaining 4-2 home win over Penrith Royal. Dan Jones scored twice and Jay Hayton and Matt Harby were also on target for Ibis.

In the other games Lunesdale United Reserves defeated AFC Carlisle 2-1, while Jack Overs scored twice as Appleby Reserves saw off Dent Reserves 3-0.
