Jess Young scored a brace while Lucy Dixon was also on target after Ambleside Ladies Hockey Club picked up a comprehensive 3-0 home win over a depleted Ulverston on Saturday afternoon.
For the first time this season Ambleside had a strong squad of 16 players to choose from after the team struggled to raise a side the previous weekend.
The Greens tried too hard in the first half as the team struggled to link their passes together, however despite the disjointed nature of the half, Ambleside opened the scoring after Jess Young blasted the ball home past the Ulverston keeper.
Once Ambleside had gone in front they saw the first half out as they managed to preserve their 1-0 advantage.
The second half was much better by the hosts after they began to switch play with more fluency, while the team were also more confident in possession.
Ambleside created numerous opportunities to put the game away, before Jess Young scored hers and the Teams second of the afternoon with another clinical strike.
The greens in rampant form confirmed victory after Lucy Dixon prodded the ball home as Ambleside eased to their 3-0 win
Ambleside play Kendal’s second team on Saturday afternoon in what will be a competitive encounter.
