KENDAL men visited Preston on Saturday bidding for a hat-trick of wins when pitted against against NW League Div 5 strugglers Springfields 2nds.

Any confidence of success was shortlived as Kendal played with little structure and poor cohesion.

Glimpses of skill were forthcoming from Liam Derome, with numerous galloping runs on the left wing but the support was lacking.

Springs always seemed to be a threat on the break and capitalised to go into the interval a goal to the good.

In the second half numerous positional changes by Kendal made little difference and Springs converted a short corner for a 2-0 lead.

Visiting goalkeeper Josh Chacko received the Greens’ man of the match vote, but the inability to score cost them in the end.

Spirits were low after the game and the free flowing hockey of the previous two games must be reaffirmed when Kendal resume league duties in two weeks at home to Brooklands MU.
