Hawcoat Park 6.

M’thorpe Corinths 1.

CORINTHIANS were second best in every department against a vastly superior Hawcoat Park outfit.

An under-strength Milnthorpe side were 2-0 down at half time, having seen striker Chris Vincent waste a golden opportunity to get one back, firing over from close range with the goal at his mercy.

A poor performance turned into a terrible one for Corinthians in the second half as Park swept forward regularly and looked odds-on to score every time they did.

The defensive trio of Hayton, Williams and Hartley were largely responsible for keeping the scoreline respectable, but as the half progressed they received less protection from their midfielders and Hawcoat increased the score to 5-0.

Vincent did get on the scoresheet when a deflected bac- pass ricocheted to his feet 20 yards from goal and he rounded the keeper to slot home. Hawcoat added a sixth before the final whistle sounded.

Corinthians will need to improve both fitness and desire should they wish to avoid another performance like this and the bottom end of the table.
