Carlisle racecourse gears up for medieval day on Sunday

CARLISLE Racecourse will host ‘Ye Olde Medieval Day’ on Sunday as part its penultimate race day of the year.
Entertainment will include birds of prey, jugglers, a minstrel and mounted knights, as well as children’s rides and a Punch and Judy show.
In testing conditions, the feature race will be the £15,000 OG’s Racing Club Northern Tour Handicap Chase and Greystoke trainer Nicky Richards is expected to send out Skippers Brig.
Richards will be hoping for a fourth consecutive victory at the track in the three-mile race.
Annual members badges for 2010 are now on sale, priced at £130 for a single, £110 for an OAP single and £210 for a double.
Gates open at 10.55am. The first race is at 12.55pm, with the finale is at 3.35pm.
The final racing of 2009 is Christmas Countdown family day - starring the Aviemore Reindeer - on Sunday, December 20.
