More than a dozen triathletes came to Tooting Bec Lido early on Sunday, September 30, to take part in the South London Swimming Club's 6th annual triathlon.
The event was won by 32-year-old Nick Bamford from Balham in a time of 41 minutes 51 seconds.
Afterwards, he said: “I really, really enjoyed it. It's good to have a triathlon in south London. The Lido is a perfect place for the swimming and together with the Common it's a perfect venue - it's an event that should grow.”
Daniel Sharrock, 30, from South Croydon and a member of the Otter Swimming Club, was second in 43 minutes four seconds. It was only the second triathlon hed competed in.
Afterwards he said: “I'm really a swimmer, but I find it exhilarating having to do all three disciplines in one event.”
Well I have just got home from our first 'netmums' meetup today and it went really well. I was quite amazed about the weather this morning I was expecting to have to cancel our picnic for an indoor alternative but the sun shone the whole way through.
what a difference a few days makes, from the unlucky defeat to Marine last Tuesday comes 2 brilliant wins with a 2-0 at home to Eastwood on Saturday and a tight 3-2 Bank Holiday Monday win up at Whitby with Craig Hobson scoring a 1st half hat trick.
