KENDAL kept a possible title-winning climax on the cards in the 3-D Sports Northern Premier Cricket League with a handsome seven-wicket victory at Lancaster's Lune Road ground on Saturday.

Barbon Hill climb set for 1pm start.

The yearly Barbon Bike hill climb is being held at the Barbon Manor Estate near Kirkby Lonsdale this afternoon. Westmorland Motor club are staging the event which see’s riders compete to set the fastest time over the 890 yard track.

QUADRATHLON: Keith Longney retained the Male V40 title in the British Championships, at Brigg, North Lincolnshire last weekend. He faced stiff competition with wet and windy conditions making the distances of a 1.5k swim, 7km kayak, 40km cycle & 10k run challenging, but his fifth place overall was a good result given the young and talented field.
