KENDAL Town goalkeeper David Newnes, who has had rave reviews in the Unibond League this season, was among the awards at Kendal Town FC's annual presentation dinner.

Newnes stepped up to pick up the Players' Players award from Sir Tom Finney, the ex-England and Preston North End legend who is Town's president.

And Newnes was up on his feet sooon again at the dinner held at the Castle Green Hotel in Kendal on Friday evening, when he collected the Committee's Player award from Fred Else, the former PNE goalkeeper.

The Leading Scorer award was jointly shared by Paul Fildes and Michael Cole, while Town boss Lee Ashcroft chose Paul Byrne for the Manager's Award, to go with the Supporters Award the player had already received.

The Clubman Award went to Town secretary Craig Campbell and was presented to him by Town chairman David Willan.
