SUNDAY sees the 11th annual Car’s the Star Show at Heaves Hotel, Levens, near Kendal.

The entry is divided into ten classes for Saloon Cars to Specials and Kit Cars and Motorcycles to Sports & GT Cars, from pre 1960 to post 1980, the oldest cars on display will be the Talbot 20/60, Ascot Light, and the Singer Le-Manns.

There is a place for everything at the Show from various Aston Martin’s, the De Tomaso Pantera GTS to a Ford Escort Mk 1’s and a couple of BSA’s.

Local motorsport enthusiasts David Robinson Vehicle Diagnostics of Ulverston and Savage Motorsport are very supportive of the show and will choose the Car of the Show from the best in class finalists voted for by the entrants themselves.

The Show also gets support from several one make Clubs and Car Clubs who organize their members into providing a static display of the sorts of vehicles used on the event that club organizes.

For the past few years, Cumbria Rover Owners Club have given passenger rides into the trees and up the banking to the left of the show field, to demonstrate just how capable Land Rovers are.

For the budding controllers of the future, the Car Show has always had the support of South Lakeland Model Car Club, who set up their area and hold races for club members.
