Olympic Torchbearers announced ahead of London 2012

INSPIRATIONAL people from across the South Lakes have been named as Olympic flame torchbearers when the famous torch passes through Cumbria in June.
No fewer than 59 people from the region will carry the torch through Brough, Appleby, Grasmere, Ambleside, Bowness on Windermere, Kendal, Milnthorpe, Carnforth and Bolton le Sands.
Mike Liptrot, Angela Kelly, Cate Davies, Claire Holmes and Finn Miles are among those running through Kendal as the Olympic Torch Relay comes through the Auld Grey Town on June 22.
The route was also announced today and the flame will be carried through Kendal from 8am, starting from Kendal Castle and taking in Highgate and Aynam Road before heading south to Milnthorpe.

For example no one living in Grasmere, Ambleside and Windermere is sufficiently worthy to run in those towns/villages.
