Kendal Amateur Swimming Club staged the latest instalment of their Championship Gala at the NCL Centre.

The evening kicked off with the ladies and gents 200 breaststroke which saw clear victories for Daniel Armstrong and Megan Jones who displayed fine skill and technique throughout.

The 25 metre breaststroke heats gave the younger swimmers an opportunity to show their class with the top six from each heat going into the finals.

Both under 10 finals had blanket finishes with Emma Foster and Adam Stansfield claiming victory.

The under 12 event was won by Ella Bond, who led from the start.

In the boy's event Oliver Woodburn swam a good race to emerge victorious.

When the programme turned to butterfly it was Megan Jones who stole the show.

She won two events and claimed minor places in the others.

Megan won the under 12 and under 14 100m Championships with a degree of ease.

Emily's strength and power proved the be decisive as she sealed victory with Amy coming in second.

Gregor Rothwell won the Junior Gents race and finished second in the senior race, which was won by Nicholas Carlton.

The Open 50 Freestyle brought Emily Reay and Carlton more success.

The Gala concluded with the U/11 50 Freestyle which had Deegan storming to a remarkable victory over Lucy Sargeant and Freya Capstick followed by Alex Tallon winning the boys version.
