KENDAL C continued their winning ways bagging a win at Cockermouth to keep them in third place in the league standings.

After a late start due to problems finding the venue, Ian Garnett and Russ Lilliebridge got off to fliers, both winning in straight games.

Joel Howse also did his best to make up for lost time, unfortunately going down in three games. Gary Major extended his match but lost in four.

This meant the outcome was poised at two all as the number one players took to the court. Chris Hoyle and Mike Sadler have played before, and their tally was even with one match apiece.

Predictably the match went to five with Hoyle stepping up a gear in the last two games to win his match, and the overall tie, 3-2.

The A team had a long trip to Egremeont where they played a team of Windscale teenagers. It was Kendal’s worst result of the season as they crashed to a 5-0 loss. Graham Braithwaite gained Kendal’s best result, managing to claim a game in a 3-1 defeat. Kendal A are one place above Dalton A at the bottom of the Premier league, with both teams yet to win a match.

Meanwhile Kendal B team had a bad night at home to Carlisle C.

Kendal’s star of the show was Chris Vance, coming in at number four to play his first team match of the season. He battled his way through a long five setter coming out on top. John Bannister, Owen Haines, Dave Archer and Shayne Holliday all lost in three. This leaves Kendal B lurking near the foot of the league.
