LONDON 2012 Olympic athlete Chloe Wilcox has been in Eden to introduce local schoolchildren to the sport of Water Polo.

Hosted by Woggle Goggle Swimming School in Penrith, pupils from Orton, Tebay, Appleby and Kendal were among those learning from the star.

“We are always looking for ways to give local children the opportunity to develop new skills and try new sports,” said Jacqueline Levene, Senior Instructor and joint founder of Woggle Goggle Swimming School.

“We are very keen to try and help promote water polo in the area. It is amazing what Chloe has managed to achieve in the sport. Chloe has a very busy training and playing schedule, so we are extremely grateful that she has spared so much of her time to share her knowledge and love of the sport. This is an excellent opportunity for our pupils and with Chloe’s help, we may even be able to find another future local Olympic star”

The special sessions are designed to give pupils an introduction into the sport and focused on the key swimming skills required for water polo.

Jacqueline continued: “If the lessons are successful, we will be looking to introduce water polo sessions into our current swimming programme. We are also hoping to hold water polo crash courses in the summer months, all with help and expert guidance from Chloe."
