KENDAL starlet Megan Jones won two bronze medals as part of the Cumbria Swim Team competing in the North West Region’s Inter Association Gala held at the Knowsley Leisure Centre in Liverpool.

Her first success came from the 100m Breaststroke where off the block she got a brilliant start and out of her transition she put herself in a position to bid for honours.

Staying composed and relaxed through the first 50m, she turned with a split of 41.19 and emerged shoulder to shoulder with Jennifer Green (Central Lancs) and Ellie Waring (Liverpool and District). Headed for the finish the trio began to wind up the pace and in a storming finish Jones held on to Bronze medal place in a personal best time of 1:26.37.

Jones then went on to tackle the 200m Breaststroke where her power and tactical ability came into play.0

Another great start and transition saw her come out strongly. Up there amongst the leaders she found herself again battling it out with Green and another Liverpool and District swimmer, Jessica Morgan. Showing great technique and superb talent, Jones kept up the pressure but Green managed to get a slight lead and into the finish it was Green who took Gold with Morgan snatching Silver.
