WINDERMERE Golf Club’s Adam Chapman has just returned home from an eight day training session in Portugal, his fourth successful coaching session following his selection for the ‘England Elite Squad 2015’ earlier this year.

Chapman, 19, had an extremely successful season, the finale of which saw his being ranked in the top 100 amateur golfers in the world.

Playing off a handicap of plus-five, he now forms part of the 17 strong squad, who are undertaking a number of training sessions this winter to prepare them for the start of next year’s season.

With coach David Ridley tasked with improving his long game and both Graham Walker and Phil Kenton assisting with his short game, Chapman can already see the benefits of their instruction.

“The intense training sessions are going extremely well and I can definitely see improvements to my game.” said Chapman. “Hopefully, if I can maintain performance, I’ll be facing the Portuguese Amateur Championship in January, the Spanish Amateur Championship in February and the Italian Amateur Championship in March, with real confidence.”

Chairman Cliff Heath said: "All the members at Windermere Golf Club have been following Adam’s progress very closely and we are delighted training is going well for him.

"We fully support Adam in his on-going progress as an England player and very much look forward to what his future has in store.”
