IT has been a fabulous fortnight for members of Kendal Gymnastics Club after success at two different events.

At the Level 6 two-piece championship at Carlisle Gymnastics Club, the Kendal youngsters returned with a cluthc of medals

The competition saw gymnasts compete on two of the four pieces, but could not choose the combination of floor and vault.

And the strong Kendal squad achieved some excellent results.

In the Level 7 event, Libby Astle won vault bronze in the eight year category.

In the11 and under, Kelsey Hughes won gold on the bars bars and silver on the vault. Chloe Howarth also won gold, this time on vault and added a silver on the beam.

Jessica Little won vault bronze and Vivi Aldridge won bars bronze.

In the 12 and over, there was gold for Bella Place on the floor who also won bronze on the bars.

And Evelyn Taylor and Jodie Walker both struck gold on the beam and bars respectively while there were silver medals for Emily Satterthwaite (vault and Nancy Keller (floor).

And to complete a successful day, the12 and over squad won the team gold.

Kendal also travelled to the City of Newcastle Gymnastics Academy to take part in the North of England Regional Grades 6 and 5.

Although run as a competition, these are primarily assessments where all gymnasts taking part at their level can achieve a pass, commendation or distinction (highest award).

These were the novice levels, as the grades start at 6 and work up to 1.

Awards - Grade 6 Chloe Mitchell (Distinction), Daisy Garnett (Commendation), Clara Spiby (Commendation)

Grade 5: Anna-May Dixon (Distinction), Sienna Middleton (Distinction), Maisie Ion (Commendation), Charlotte Timms (Pass).

The grade 5 team won the team bronze medal.
