PART-time soldier and window cleaner Calvin Routledge proved to be a real 'pane' to his rivals after victory at the
Inter-Unit Orienteering Championships.
Representing his Reserve Unit, Central Reserve Headquarters Adjustant General's Corps, Sgt Routledge won the individual event by more than five minutes - beating the best runners from both the Army's Regular and Reserve Units at Sutton Park, Birmingham.
Routledge, whose normal day job is cleaning windows with Pegasus WIndow Cleaning in the Ambleside area, then took part in the three man relay event, running the second leg for his unit bringing them up from fourth to take the lead position.
These performances follow on from his victory in the M21L class at the multi-day Jan Kjaellstrom International Orienteering Festival held in the Lake District earlier in the year and helping his unit win the Reserve and Veterans prizes in Adjutant General's Corps March and Shoot competition held in Winchester in May.
