LOWER Holker A climbed out of the Division One relegation zone in the Kendal and District Bowling League with a much-needed win over Netherfield B.

The 8-2 victory was only their fifth of the season and saw them move five points clear of relegation-threatened Holme B, who lost at Levens A.

At the top of the division Holme A continue to lead the way by four points after a 7-3 win over ninth place Burneside A, whilst second place Victoria A won 3-7 away at Burton and third place Kings Arms Hale A won 4-6 away at Netherfield A.

Lindale A remain dominant in Division Two following a 7-3 home win at sixth place Levens A.

The result gives them a 12 point lead with only three matches left to place.

Second place Staveley A were comfortable away at Allithwaite A winning 3-7 - however next week is their second bye of the season where they will not pick up any points, giving third place Netherfield C an opportunity to move above them.

In fifth place Crosthwaite A are still just in touch after a 6-4 home win over Netherfield C.

Ambleside A lead Division Three by nine points after a 10-0 win against Allithwaite B.

Second place Abbot Hall continued their consistent form with a 4-6 away victory at fifth place Holme C.

At the bottom end of the division Bowness B produced some good form away at Endmoor A to get a 5-5 draw which keeps them in touch with the other teams fighting relegation.

Two of the three of Division Four promotion places seem to be clear. Burton B remain out in front winning 4-6 away at sixth place Crosthwaite B to give them a four point lead over Heversham A, who won 10-0 over seventh place Burneside B.

Subscription B hold third place at present but are 18 points adrift from the top two - despite winning 9-1 at home to Staveley B.

However fourth place Netherfield D are only three points behind and Sedbergh and Crosthwaite B are four points.

Arnside B remain out in front in Division Five, winning 7-3 at home over tenth place Heversham B to give them a healthy 11 point cushion with three to go.

Burneside C lead Division Six with one to go but they too had their second by week this week and could only watch the other team close the gaps. Victoria D got the best advantage winning 10-0 at home to visitors Subscription D and are now only two points behind the leaders - but will have their bye week in the last week of the season.

Joint third are Lindale D and Windermere D, who are both seven points adrift, after wins at Staveley C and Bowness C respectively.

The last week's fixtures has Lindale D at home to top team Burneside C and Windermere D at home to Milnthorpe C, which means Lindale or Windermere need a 8-2 win to secure a promotion place.
