KIRKBY Lonsdale's final warm up match was a full on first fifteen squad game away at Rossendale of National 3 North, the league into which the Underley Park outfit so narrowly missed promotion to last season.

It was a game full of pace, power and commitment in which the two sides shared the honours at 12v12 with each team scoring two tries and converting one.

The match provided a stern test for Kirkby as they prepare for their opening fixture in North 1 West away at Blackburn on September 5.

Ahead of that on Saturday August 29 the club will be hosting an open training session from 3pm to 5pm, intended to give people an opportunity to see and meet the players.

The bar will be open from 4pm and food will be served at 6pm.

On Sunday September 20 there will be a Thai curry lunch in aid of the North West Air Ambulance, meet at 12.30pm for lunch at 1pm.

Tickets are adults £12 and children £5 and are available from Ian Taylor on 015395 67638, Richard Dennison on 07770 940534 ot Dave Williams on 015242 72582.
