KENDAL romped to victory against a below par Lancaster and Morecambe side who barely touched the ball all game.

Straight from the start Kendal, playing at home, crafted a team passing move which almost saw them take the lead straight away.

It was only a matter of time before Aaron Screen's deft touch opened the scoring - and then the floodgates opened.

More goals followed for Liam Platt, Nicholas Davis, Chris Woodman and Ewan Galloway - the latter was the pick of the bunch as it rocketed into the top corner.

At the half way mark it was 6-0 to Kendal, but they were not finished there.

After the break Lancaster and Morecambe rallied and enjoyed a brief spell of possession, but great work from Jack Kerr, Tyson Barclay and Harry Denney in midfield kept the visitors at bay.

The Greens then scored their seventh goal after Ayrton Boyd's finish.

Gordon Blunt and Matt Clinton were rampant down the right flank and they created a wonderful chance for Mike Hinchliffe to slot home the eighth goal of the game.

Man of the match Nick Davis scored the ninth to complete his hat trick and complete the rout.

Kendal Men's Second Team travelled away to play Preston Sixth Team.

The visitors started brightly and were soon causing problems for the Preston defence however they were unable to create any clear goal scoring opportunities. However, Preston were also carrying a threat as they broke forwards and scored the opening goal.

It was 1-0 at half time but Kendal started the second half strongly and had several efforts on goal.

James Hunter Williams was proving a handful for the Preston defence down the right wing as he utilised his pace to get several crosses in to the D.

Another Kendal attack led to good work from Giles Holden who laid a pass across the Preston goal for Hunter Williams to finish at the back post for 1-1.

Chances were being made at both ends but it was Preston who managed to convert them as they ran out 3-1 winners.

Kendal's young team had again acquitted themselves well against good opposition in a well tempered match.
