TALENTED siblings from Ambleside AC shone through in the Cumbria cross country championships at Crooklands on Saturday.

Brothers James and Harry Bowen finished first and second in the under 11 boys’ race while Chloe Rylance was victorious in the under 13 girls’ event and her sister was runner-up in the under 11 ‘race – beaten to the line by Hoad Hill’s Olesia Winder.

Another notable young Ambleside athleteswas Oliver Gajdowski, who claimed second in the under 15 boys’ seven seconds adrift of Border’s Oliver Dustin.

Kendal athletes performed well in the senior races with Rebecca Robinson romping to victory in the senior ladies and Alistair Russell placing third in the senior mens’ race behind Keswick’s John Battrick and Steve Hebblethwaite.
