After a long winter, the Kendal and District Bowling League returns on Tuesday, April 5, for what will be a highly competitive season throughout all six divisions.

Bowling has become one of the most popular participation sports, with men and women of all ages taking part. Throughout the six months there are regular league matches, as well as major and club tournaments taking place.

As well as the Kendal and District Leagues, there is also a Seniors League, which take place on a Monday afternoon plus a rural division played on a Friday night. The Rural League is for beginners looking to get into bowling.

For the opening night of the Kendal and District Bowling League, Division One title holders Holme A host Netherfield C in what promises to be a tantalising encounter.

There are also many other games taking place, with Netherfield A entertaining Levens A and Victoria A facing Holme B.

Other Division One games include Windermere A as they battle Kings Arms Hales A while Burneside A play Bowness A.

In the final game Lindale A entertain Netherfield B for what will be another close contest.

Division Two also begins on Tuesday night as Crosthwaite A play Milnthorpe A. Kirkby Lonsdale A entertain Burton A and Levens B play Allithwaite A.

Lower Holker A face off against Ambleside A, Staveley A host Abbot Hall, while Subscription A play Victoria B.

Divisions Three, Four, Five and Six begin on Thursday, April 7. One of the select games from Division Three will be Lower Holker B's battle with Endmoor B.

In Division Four bragging rights are up for grabs as Netherfield D entertain Subscription B.

The key game in Division Five will be between Kirkby Lonsdale B and Staveley B, while in Division Six, Victoria D entertain Endmoor .
