IT was another competitive afternoon of action in The South Westmorland Senior Bowling League.

In Division One Netherfield A surged seven points clear at the top of the table after they defeated Kirkby Lonsdale 8-0 in a dominant display at Parkside Road.

Warton remain in second place after they battled to a 5-3 home win over a resilient Netherfield B Team.

In the other games Silverdale ran out 6-2 winners over Bolton-le-Sands, Holme A defeated Springfields 6-2 while Levens A and Lindale A picked up 7-1 wins over Lower Holker A and Burneside A respectively.

Windermere opened up a four point gap at the top of Division Two after a hard fought 5-3 win over Carnforth A.

Subscription A remained in the race after a convincing 8-0 win over Heversham A, while there were also wins for Arnside A, Milnthorpe A and Ingleborough A, who won 6-3 at Crosthwaite A.

In Division Three, Victoria picked up a comfortable 6-2 home win over Burneside's B Team, Lindale B whitewashed Subscription B 8-0 while both Carnforth B and Sedbergh B drew 4-4.

At the top of the table both Lower Holker B and Abbot Hall A won 7 as they defeated Springfield B and Staveley A respectively.

Division Four remained competitive as Hawkshead won 5-3 at Abbot Hall’s B Team, while Endmoor and Holme B won by the same score after they defeated Crosthwaite B and Silverdale B respectively.

There were also wins for Levens B and Allithwaite.

Netherfield C remained seventeen points clear at the top of Division Five however they were made to work as they edged out Ingleborough B 5-3.

Burton In Lonsdale whitewashed Staveley B 8-0, While Arnside B,Heversham B and Windermere B also picked up crucial wins.
