There were a few surprises in the latest round of the South Westmorland Senior Bowling League as the race for supremacy continued.

In Division One, there was no stopping Netherfield A at the top of the division after they whitewashed Levens A 8-0.

Second-placed Warton A suffered a surprise setback after they lost 6-2 to Silverdale A. There were also wins for Lindale A, Burneside A and Lower Holker A.

Division Two Leaders Windermere picked up another good win after they defeated Crosthwaite A 6-2.

The most dramatic game saw Subscription A draw 4-4 with Milnthorpe A, while there were also wins for Warton B, Ingleborough A and Bowness A.

In Division Three Carnforth B defeated Lindale B 7-1, Victoria picked up an 8-0 win over Lower Holker B and Abbot Hall A also won by the same score as they eased past Burneside B.

Springfield defeated Subscription B 7-1, while Staveley A edged Sedbergh B 5-3.

Division Four remained the most competitive, after Endmoor B, Levens B, Silverdale B, Langdale and Holme B all collected important wins.

In Division Five League Leaders Netherfield C lost their first game of the season after a shock 7-1 defeat at Windermere B.

There were also wins for Ingleborough B, Burton-in-Lonsdale, Staveley B and Arnside B.
