Netherfield's Second Team remained in contention for the Northern Premier Cricket League Division Two crown after they defeated Morecambe by 22 runs at Woodhill Lane.

The Seconds, who batted first, posted a competitive total of 182-9 off the allotted 45 overs. Craig Walmsley top scored with 37 while Geeth Malinda Kamburugamuwe scored 29.

In reply Morecambe were bowled out for 160 in 42.1 overs, Mike Curran with figures of 4-51 and Scott Clement 4-30.

On Sunday Netherfield Seconds reached the John Scott Cup final after they defeated Kendal by seven wickets at Shap Road.

Joel Bibby, Mike Curran, Liam Dugdale, Isaac Medhurst and Scott Clement got the wickets as Kendal were bowled out for 93 in 39.4 overs. Paul Fearnyough was the top scorer with 36.

In reply Netherfield knocked the runs off in 28.5 overs as they closed on 98-3. Theo Gallagher top scored with 27 with Brendan Herron undefeated on 22.

Netherfield will now meet Penrith in the final.

Kendal's Seconds crashed to a heavy 10 wicket home defeat to Fleetwood on Saturday. Oliver Tyson top scored with 44 before Kendal were bowled out for 93.

In reply Fleetwood knocked the runs off in 20.4 overs, James Wilson with an undefeated knock of 50 as the visitors closed on 100-0.
