Ambleside Ladies Hockey Club defeated Kendal's seconds 6-1 in the teams' first game of 2018.
The Greens continued their fine form after an impressive first half of the season against a youthful and spirited Kendal team.
Ambleside started brightly on a bitterly cold afternoon while Kendal struggled to gain any possession.
The visitors opened the scoring when Alice Bowler flicked the ball into the net. Bowler linked up well with Donna Robinson and Sheelagh Conlin.
Ambleside continued to exert their authority on the game as Donna Robinson made it 2-0 after a good finish in the D.
Kendal were unable to retain the ball especially in the danger areas, while Ambleside remained in control of the game.
Ambleside scored a third goal on the stroke of half time through a clinical finish by Katie Coleman.
In the second half, Ambleside scored two more goals through Conlin and Robinson, before Kendal pulled one back through Francine Bult.
Ambleside began to look tired in what was Kendal’s best spell of the game, but the Greens pushed on late into the second half as Coleman scored her second and Ambleside’s sixth of the afternoon.
Ambleside are home to Kirkby Lonsdale this Saturday, with the game getting underway at 12.30.
