KENDAL’s junior hill climb champion Eve Dixon finished second in the first national women’s team series race of the year at Redbridge, Essex.
Dixon was in a perfect position in the bunch as a slimmed down field of 25 riders pushed for the line.
In the dash for the line Emily Barnes of Corvida Allpress managed to just beat Dixon but the Kendal rider collected a respectable second place.
l Biketreks’ rider John Dodgin made a succcessful return to the Cyclocross series as he finished 15th at the NWCCA’s Ulverston race.
After a series of DNFs, Dodgin took a break from racing for a few weeks but tackled the round along the Cumbrian coast and edged out former national mountain bike and cyclocross champion Barrie Clarke for 15th place.
