£1m cash boost for cycling

LOCAL authorities, charities and cycling organisations have been invited to submit bids for their share of a further £1 million which has been earmarked to support a variety of cycling projects.

Informal races prove popular

THOUSANDS of visitors flocked to Cartmel yesterday for a new event in the race calendar. Event organisers said early estimates predicted around 5,500 people had turned out to the new more informal event which saw families and groups of friends bringing picnics and enjoying barbecues near the course.
