THE world’s greatest living explorer, Sir Ranulph Fiennes, will be a guest speaker at next year’s Keswick Mountain Festival.
A year to the day after he conquered Everest aged 65 he will take to the stage at the Theatre by The Lake on May 21 to talk about his eventful life.
Keswick Mountain Festival, now in its fourth year, will also welcome adventurers Andy Cave, Andy Kirkpatrick and Cumbria’s own Leo Houlding.
Sir Ranulph Fiennes was described by the Guinness Book of Records as the World’s Greatest Living Explorer.
He has been at the forefront of many exploratory expeditions, including becoming the first man to reach both poles by surface travel.
Recent exploits include completing seven marathons in seven days in seven different continents – despite a major heart attack and double bypass.
Tickets for the all the mountain festival speakers will be available directly from the Theatre by the Lake from 4 January 2010.
