(THE COUNTY OF CUMBRIA (CSIOI, U5480, U548I, U5482 AND US483 MILLTHROP BRIDGE, NEAR SEDBERGH) (TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2020

(THE COUNTY OF CUMBRIA (CSIOI, U5480, U548I, U5482 AND US483 MILLTHROP BRIDGE, NEAR SEDBERGH) (TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2020

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable Cumbria Highways to carry out bridge repair works ("the Works"), the County Council of Cumbria has made an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from:-

I. Proceeding along that section of the C5I0I Millthrop Bridge, nr Sedbergh from a point approx 463m south east of its junction with the C5I05 extending in a south eastery directio for approx. 45m.

A way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained as and when the temporary closure above is in force and a suitable alternative route for vehicles will be signed and available via the unrestricted sections of the C5101, C5105, A683, U539I and U5376.

2a. Proceeding along that section of the C5101 Millthrop Bridge, nr Sedbergh other than in a easterly direction to its junction with the U5480 for approx. 195m.

2b. Proceeding along that section of the U5480 Millthrop Bridge,

nr Sedbergh other than in a north easterly direction from its

junction with the C5101 for approx.272m.

2c. Proceeding along that section of the U548I Millthrop Bridge,

nr Sedbergh other than in a north westerly direction from its

junction with the C5101 for approx. 100m.

2d. Proceeding along that section of the U5482 Millthrop Bridge,

nr Sedbergh other than in a southerly direction from its junction

with the A684 for approx. 160m.

2e. Proceeding along that section of the U5483 Millthrop Bridge, nr Sedbergh other than in a north easterly direction from its junction with the U5482 for approx 167m. 3. Waiting at anytime, on any day and loading/unloading at any time, on any day (including disabled blue badge holders) along that section of the U5480 Millthrop Bridge, nr Sedbergh (both sides) from a point approx 106m north east of its junction with the U548I extending in a north easterly direction for approx 880m.

The above Works will not necessarily be done in numerical order.

The contractor will ensure that local residents and the general public are informed of which roads are to be affected and when, nearer the time.

A way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times.

Nothing in the Order to which this notice relates shall:

1. Apply to emergency service vehicles, or vehicles being used by statutory undertakers in the performance of their duties; and

2. Apply to anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform; and



3. Have the effect of preventing at any time access for pedestrians to any premises situated on or adjacent to the roads, or to any other premises accessible for pedestrians from, and only from the roads; and

quoting the reference SL20/157. The Order will come into operation on I June 2020 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restrictions will only be required for 3 months in total and only as and when the relevant traffic signs are displayed.
