AUTHORITY PUBLIC PATH NOTICE FOOTPATHS 408037 & 408087, AND PART OF FOOTPATH 408085, STANLEY GHYLL, ESKDALE PARISH TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC ORDER 2020 NOTICE IS GIVEN that under Section 14(1) of the RoadTraffic Regulation Act 1984, the Lake District National Park Authority intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make an order. The effect of the order will be to prohibit public traffic for all purposes from proceeding over all of the footpaths in Stanley Ghyll, namely FP 408037 between NY 1727 0005 & SD 1743 9953, FP 408087 between SD 1742 9983 & SD 1740 9960, and parts of FP 408085 from SD 1735 9958 to SD 1738 9947 including spur to SD 1740 9947, to enable large-scale vegetation clearance and rock stabilisation works.
The notice and plan showing the route concerned may be inspected during normal office or opening hours at the National Park Authority Offices, Murley Moss, Oxenholme Road, Kendal, LA9 7RL; at Copeland Borough Council, Copeland Borough Council, The Market Hall, Whitehaven, CA28 7JG; and at Holmrook Post Office, Tynedale Farm Services, Farm Shop, Holmrook, Egremont, CA19 1UH; and online at
The order will take effect on 30 November 2020 and will continue in force for six months, but it is hoped that the works will be completed by Easter 2021. If the works have not been completed the Order may be extended for a further period with the approval of the Secretary of State.
