Changes to the Coast Path between Birkenhead and the Welsh border
A call for representations and objections. Natural England has been asked by the government to
establish a continuous walking route around England's coastline. As part of this programme, our compendium of reports describing proposed changes to public access between Birkenhead and the Welsh border is published on Wednesday 16th December 2020.
These reports have been drawn up in partnership with Wirral Metropolitan Borough Council & Cheshire West and Chester Council. Representations and objections on the proposed changes can now be made and must be received by Natural England no later than midnight on Wednesday 10th February 2021.
The Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs will then make a decision about each report when all representations and objections have been considered. Establishment of the new access arrangements will not begin until that decision Is made. How to make a representation or objection:
Representations can be made by any person, while objections can only be made by owners and occupiers of affected land. Both must be made on the correct forms supplied by Natural England.
Copies of the reports and forms are available from Natural England's website at:
As required by regulations, we will make available a copy of the proposals at our Crewe office for inspection, but by prior appointment only. If such access is requested, and as a preference, we will offer to send out a printed copy of the proposals instead (taking into account current Covid restrictions). Please contact Natural England with any such request, as below.
