THE COUNTY OF CUMBRIA (LOWTHER CRESCENT, WALNEY, BARROW) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF PEDESTRIANS AND CYCLISTS) ORDER 2021
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable Cadent Gas to carry out gas main replacement works ("the Works"), the County Council of Cumbria intends to make an Order the effect of which is to prohibit pedestrians and cyclists from proceeding along that section of footpath at Lowther Crescent, Walney, Barrow-in-Furness from a point approx. 75m south west of its junction with Muncaster Road, extending in a generally southerly direction for a distance of approx. 50m. A suitable alternative route for pedestrians and cyclists will be available via the unrestricted sections of Lowther Crescent, Muncaster Road, Teasdale Road, C6006 and Leighton Drive. Nothing in the Order to which this notice relates shall have the effect of preventing at any time access for pedestrians to any premises situated on or adjacent to the road (footpath), or to any other premises accessible for pedestrians from, and only from the road.

However, please note that it is anticipated that the restriction will only be required for 2 weeks and only as and when the relevant traffic signs are displayed.
