THE COUNTY OF CUMBRIA (U4379 WINDERMERE ROAD AND U4319 QUEEN STREET, WHITEHAVEN) [TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2022
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable Electricity North West to cany out utility works ("the Works"), the County Council of Cumbria intends to make an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along the following lengths of road:
1. U4379 Windermere Road, Whitehaven, from a point approx. 160m south of its junction with Woodhouse Road, extending in a southerly direction for approx. 65m.
Alternative Route: via the unrestricted sections of Windermere Road and Woodhouse Road.
Duration: From 7 February 2022 for approx. 4 days (Ref: CO2I-304)
2. U4319 Queen Street, Whitehaven, for its entire length. Alternative Route for southbound vehicles will be available via Duke Street, Scotch Street and Lowther Street
Duration: From 21 February 2022 for approx. 2 weeks (Ref:CO2l-303)
A way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times.
Nothing in the Order to which this notice relates shall: (i)Apply to emergency service vehicles, or vehicles being used by statutory undertakers in the performance of their duties; and (ii)Apply to anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform; and (iii)Have the effect of preventing at any time access for pedestrians to any premises situated on or adjacent to the roads, or to any other premises accessible for pedestrians from, and only from the roads; and

The Order will come into operation on 7 February 2022 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restrictions will only be required as detailed above and only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
