PUBLIC PATH NOTICE
THE LAKE DISTRICT NATIONAL PARK AUTHORITY FOOTPATH 561008/575029 AT FROST HOLE, STRICKLAND ROGER AND OVER STAVELEY PARISHES FOOTPATH 561009/575016 AT BIRK FIELD, STRICKLAND ROGER AND OVER STAVELEY PARISHES TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF
TRAFFIC ORDERS 2017
NOTICE IS GIVEN that under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the Lake District National Park Authority intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make two orders. The effect of the orders will be to prohibit public traffic for all purposes from proceeding over Footpath 561008/575029 at Frost Hole, between SD 4866 9898 and SD 4864 9892, and Footpath 561009/575016 at Birk Field, between SD 4826 9902 and SD 4866 9898, in Strickland Roger and Over Staveley Parishes, to enable bridge replacement work. The notices and plans showing the routes concerned may be inspected during normal office or opening hours at the National Park Authority Offices, Murley Moss, Oxenholme Road, Kendal, LA9 7RL; at South Lakeland District Council, South Lakeland House, Lowther Street, Kendal, LA9 4DQ; and at Staveley Post Office, 22 Main Street, Staveley, Kendal, Cumbria LA8 9LN; and are also available online at http://www.lakedistrict.gov.uk/visiting/thingstodo/rowupdates/rowclosures
The orders will take effect on 22 July 2017 and will continue in force for six months, but it is expected that for each order, the paths will be closed during works for only about two weeks during this period. The paths at Frost Hole and Birk Field will not be closed at the same time, so an alternative route will always be available. When works are taking place, signs will be erected showing the closed paths and the alternative routes. The paths will be accessible as normal other than on these days. If the works have not been completed the orders may be extended for a further period with the approval of the Secretary of State.
