THE COUNTY OF CUMBRIA (B5282 PARK ROAD, Af CHURCH STREET AND BEETHAM ROAD, MILNTHORPE AND A59I WATERHEAD, NEAR AMBLESIDE) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2018
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable Cumbria Highways to carry out resurfacing works ("the Works"), the County Council of Cumbria has made an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along the following lengths of road:-

1. B5282 Park Road, Milnthorpe: From its junction with the A6 extending in a south westerly direction for a distance of approx.500m. A suitable alternative route for vehicles will be signed and available via the unrestricted section of the B5282, C5097 and A6. Duration approx. 6 weeks between the hours of 1900 and 0500 (Ref: SLI7/6285/I)

2. A6 Church Street, Milnthorpe: From its junction with the B5282 Park Road extending in a northerly direction for a distance of approx 500m.

A suitable alternative route for vehicles will be signed and available via the unrestricted section of theA6, A590, A65 and A6070. Duration approx. 6 weeks between the hours of 1900 and 0500 (Ref: SLI7/6285/2)

3. A6 Beetham Road, Milnthorpe: From its junction with the B5282/B6385 Park Road extending in a southerly direction for a distance of approx. 1000m. A suitable alternative route for vehicles will be signed and available via the unrestricted section of the A6, A6070, A65 and B6385. Duration approx. 6 weeks between the hours of 1900 and 0500 (Ref: SLI7/6285/3)

4. A59I Waterhead, near Ambleside: From its junction with the A5095 Borrans Road extending in a south easterly direction for a distance of approx. 1300m. A suitable alternative route for vehicles will be signed and available via the unrestricted section of the A59I, A592, A590, A5092,A5084,A593andA5095. Duration approx. 4 weeks between the hours of 1900 and 0500 (Ref: SLI7/6285/4) Suitable diversion routes will be indicated on site by the display of relevant traffic signs as and when the temporary closures are in force.

Phased works will not necessarily be done in numerical order. Cumbria Highways will ensure that local residents and the general public are informed of which roads are to be closed and when, nearer the time. A way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times. Nothing in the Order to which this notice relates shall:

1. Apply to any vehicle being used for police, fire brigade or ambulance purposes, or the purpose of an undertaker in an emergency, such as the loss of supplies of gas, electricity or water to premises in the area, which necessitates the bringing of vehicles into the section of road to which the order applies; and

2. Apply to anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform; and

3. Have the effect of preventing at any time access for pedestrians to any premises situated on or adjacent to the roads, or to any other premises accessible for pedestrians from, and only from the roads; and

4. Apply to vehicles being used in connection with the Works. Any queries to Cumbria Highways, Sowerby Woods Depot, Bouthwood Road, Barrow, LA 14 4RD (01229 407289) quoting the references specified above.

The Order will come into operation on 5 February 2018 and may continue in force for a period of up to eighteen months from that date as and when the relevant traffic signs are displayed, although it is anticipated that it will only be required for approx. 3 months in total.
