PIANIST Katya Apekisheva has been hailed as a “profoundly gifted artist” by Gramophone magazine.

One of Europe’s most renowned pianists, she will be the next guest in the Keswick Music Society's 2019-2020 season on Sunday, October 20 (7.30pm).

In demand internationally as both a soloist and as a chamber musician, she has stepped in to replace pianist Lara Melda who has badly broken her right ankle.

Katya is in great demand as a soloist and since being a prizewinner in the Leeds International and Scottish Piano competitions has been marked out as a pianist of exceptional gifts.

For the Theatre by the Lake performance she will play a fascinating and carefully balanced programme of piano music by Mozart, Grieg, Janacek, Schubert and Rachmaninov.
