EVERSLEY Choir's next concert promises to be a splendid occasion featuring three settings of the Virgin Mary’s great song of praise, the Magnificat. Sir Charles Villiers Stanford and Gerald Finzi's versions will be accompanied on the organ by Andy Plowman. Between the two Magnificats the young aspiring flautist Meera Maharaj, accompanied by Ken Forster, will play Bach’s E Major Flute Sonata. After the interval the choir, with Ken at the piano, will perform John Rutter's magnificent and lively setting of the Magnificat. Jazzy and lyrical by turns it is wonderful music. The solo passages will be sung by the Keldwyth Award-winning soprano, Rebecca Chandler. Tickets for the Thursday, November 21 (7.30pm) performance at Warton Church are available from choir members, at the door or on 015396-21559.
