A NEW shop dedicated to gin delicacies and unique tonics has opened in Kendal.

The Little Gin Shop on Strickland gate in the town centre sells a range of gins and tonics from worldwide as well as the Lake District.

Former bartenders Daniel White and Jack Lee from North Cumbria already own the popular cocktail bar, Hell Below in Carlisle as well as the city's own Little Gin Shop.

With over 200 spirits in their store Mr White said one of the reasons why the alcohol has become so popular with the public is down to the fact you can experiment and do so much with it.

"From rhubarb to black tomato gin you can manipulate the flavours to fit it to your unique taste." he said, "we stock Japanese, German, Italian brands and as well as supporting our local community we feel its important to sell gin from around the area too."

The couple opened their store at start of December and they want to encourage the public to pop in and say hello and take part in a taster session.

"We want to offer people the chance to try our spirits so that they can develop their pallet and try new things they might not necessarily have tried before," said Mr White "what's special about our shop is we can offer advice and interesting facts from a bartenders point of view, so we will make sure you get the best experience from tasting gin."

As well as alcohol The Little Gin Shop also sells tonics, garnishes, glassware and gift sets.

The store holds no plastic in sight too, on a mission to help the environment Mr White is determined to recycle everything that comes in. All receipts are done wirelessly and the packaging is done from recycled paper.
