This week I focus on Corton Charlemagne Grand Cru, Bonneau du Matray, Burgundy, France 2008.

As mentioned in previous articles, I am a massive fan of Burgundy wines both the chardonnays and the pinot noirs.

As like most of us, I indulge a wee bit more in the run up to Christmas. The above Corton Charlemagne Grand Cru, fingers crossed, should be with me next week and hopefully I can hold off until Christmas to sample its delights.

This is a classic Corton – Charlemagne with floral notes and toasted seeds, adding to its complex wine flavour profile, a huge deep wonderful finish.

This truly is a highlight I am looking forward to - an amazing white burgundy.

Available at Corney and Barrow, £96.
