OVERDRIVEN guitars and male and female vocals dominate the latest album by this Italian six-piece.
The presence of two singers - gravel-voiced male Andrea Ferro and sultry female Cristina Scabbia - works well, with Ferro providing a raw edge to Cristina’s soothing tones.
This is the sound of metal in the 21st Century, with more than a hint of Paramore and Evanescence, and, as a support slot on Megadeth’s next tour testifies, Lacuna Coil are a band at the height of their powers.
