HOTLY-tipped up and coming band Rubylux have announced a slot at Kendal Calling, which is now only two weeks away.

The promising indie pop rockers will play the Calling Out Stage on Sunday, July 28 - the final day of the three-day event, which takes place at Lowther Deer Park, near Shap.

Their appearance will be followed by the release of their new album The World Goes Quiet, which is filled with anthemic and dynamic catchy rock.

The band have built up a reputation for their ‘guerrilla’ gigs, where they would borrow a generator and PA system and set up for 30-45 minute gigs, which they would record and sell to buy equipment and fund further recording. This enabled them to pay for their 2010 debut album Fake Control, produced by James Sanger.

Inspired by everyone from Jimi Hendrix and The Beatles to Radiohead and The Killers, the band toured all over the world -and at The Brighton Music Awards they received the best band accolade, earning praise from The Who’s Roger Daltrey and Led Zeppelin’s Jimmy Page, the former presenting the award.

Performing on the Calling Out stage alongside Rubylux on the Sunday are Lucy Rose, The 1975, Edgar Summertyme, The Dunwells, Flight of Arrows, Public Service Broadcasting - who wowed Kendal’s Brewery Arts Centre with their performance earlier this year - Hudson Taylor, A Plastic Rose and Nina Nesbitt.
