ROLLING STONES - GRRR!

AFTER 50 years in the business, the greatest rock ’n’ roll band in the world have an embarrassment of riches to showcase on this compilation.

From the raw energy of their first single, a cover of Chuck Berry’s Come On, through the majestic sweep of Wild Horses to their latest single One More Shot, there is no denying their greatness.

They have stuttered a little along the way - such as on the risible Anybody Seen My Baby? - but there’s more than enough here to make up for such minor errors.

THE RIVERSIDERS - Pandora’s Voice Box

THIS CD features vocals from talented members of the Tuesday Club at Kendal’s Riverside Day Centre

Written and produced by music therapist Brian Davison, the album has been put together to raise funds for the charity, which provides activities for people with learning difficulties.

The album is genuinely moving, an acoustic-guitar based CD which moves from introspective tracks such as Death by a Thousand Cuts, sung by Helen Summers, to the lively Hey Senorita, voiced by Miguel Ramos.

It is available in Kendal from Brass Pineapple, in Blackhall Yard, and W.O.S.P. in Allhallows Lane, and in Bowness at Action Replay, in Lake Road.

FINE YOUNG CANNIBALS - The Collection

WHATEVER happened to the Fine Young Cannibals?

The Birmingham-based three piece were behind some of the best songs to hit the charts in the 1980s, including She Drives Me Crazy, Johnny Come Home and their excellent cover of Elvis Presley’s Suspicious Minds.

It didn’t last very long, but this CD is a worthy tribute to a really good pop outfit whose star shone briefly more than 20 years ago.
